Firecracker | Rochester, MN Family Photographer

Monday, July 4th, 2011

The title of my post has absolutely nothing to do with my session today – but it’s the 4th of July and I thought I needed something fitting and it was all I could think of. 🙂

I met up with this family of 30(!!!!) today during an hour of their weekend-long family reunion. The mission was to get them all in one picture. We did succeed, but I haven’t edited any of those pictures yet. Instead, I simply chose one picture of each family to show for their sneak peek and will save the “big” picture for them to view in the gallery.

Thank you for trusting me to take the pictures for your family. You were fabulous to work with(for) and it didn’t even seem like 30 people. 🙂

Happy 4th of July everyone!

And for absolutely no reason at all except that I found this one funny:

F.A.M.I. L.Y. | Rochester, MN Family Photographer

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Anyone else have Nick Jr. on in their house all.the.time? Apparently it is on in our house too much because I have that FAMILY song in my head. You know – the one they play in between Dora or Diego or Umi Zoomi or Backyardigans?

Well, the song seems fitting to the session I had tonight.

Remember this cutie?

Well, she’s almost a whole year older:

And still ridiculously cute.

But, she has another fun surprise.

A new baby brother – and he is as cute as they come. He is 3 months old and adorable. ALMOST gave me baby fever. Almost.

And obviously mom and dad are where they get their gorgeous looks from.

And I’m pretty sure this look is what he gave me when I said we still had more pictures to take. 😉

A Family, thank you, once again, for allowing me to capture your family. My awesome clients make my job easy!

Summer Fun | Rochester Minnesota Child Photographer

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

I met up with the A Family again this afternoon. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Miss B and her parents since she was a tiny little baby.

Here is a newborn picture I took of her.

That is one of the things I love most about this photography job. I LOVE being able to watch my client’s kids grow up. It makes me so happy. 🙂

And from the tiny baby, here is the 1.5 year old now. Full of spunk!

Summer Mini Sessions

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

I hosted some summer mini sessions today and it turned out to be a beautiful day. I was glad it wasn’t rainy, and I got to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather by doing one of my favorite things… taking pictures! 🙂

I held the mini sessions and Quarry Hill, which is beautiful and always fun to find fun places to do pictures at. Thankfully, the mosquitoes aren’t out yet, so all we had to deal with were the other Quarry Hill visitors. We came out in the end with some great pictures.

Enjoy the sneak peek from the mini sessions. 🙂

Handsome | Rochester, MN Family Photographer

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

Handsome is the best and only way I can describe the little boy (and parents) that I met up with today. Little J is almost 18 months and is seriously one of the cutest little guys I’ve seen in a very long time {excluding my own three sons, of course}. With his adorable curly hair and big brown eyes, J is going to be a heart breaker. The H family was visiting Rochester for a short time, and I had the pleasure of meeting up with them at the Salem Glen Vineyard located just outside of Rochester. It was a beautiful location (check out the fabulous doors on the place) and if I was a wine drinker, I’m pretty positive they would have had something I’d enjoy. 🙂

We played some “peek – a – boo”.

Loved the vintage look for this one!

See, told you there were some beautiful doors!

Thanks for looking!

Snuggle to Stay Warm | Rochester Minnesota Family Photographer

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

I met up with this family this morning to get some family pictures. I happen to work with the mom, so I was honored when she asked to book a session. It was pretty cold out today, so they had to snuggle close during family pictures to stay warm. They were all real troopers though, and I think we got some great shots – despite my huge mess up of leaving my extra battery at home!! Unfortunately, the session was cut very short, but I am happy with the images we got in the short time we had.

B Family, thanks for being so understanding! I hope you like these pictures from the sneak peek as much as I do!

I Fall to Pieces…| Southeastern Minnesota Family Photographer

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

I don’t really fall to pieces, but seriously, how freaking adorable is this family? I was trying to come up with a song title with “fall” in it, and this is the first one I came up with. Don’t mind me, it’s been a long day… daylight savings time has done me in! (It could also be the three little boys that rule my house – it’s a toss up).

Back to the session. I met up with this family tonight. I’ve done two other sessions with them, and every time they are just so adorable. You can check out one of their previous sessions here. Little M, L, and L have really grown up before my eyes. I know I’ve said it a million times, but I LOVE my job as a photographer! I LOVE being able to see families grow! 🙂

Silhouette shots are my favorite!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the naturalness (is that a word?) of this family shot. LOVE!

Sun | Southeastern Minnesota Family Photographer

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Sun isn’t always a photographers’ friend. In fact, most of the time, I’m seeking out shade like a heat-seeking missile. Sun can be harsh and unflattering on skin tones, so I tend to avoid it. During this session on the family farm, I wasn’t able to find shade, so we did the next best thing, back lighting! It isn’t something I do often, but I love the hazy look it gives pictures.  It is such a soft and dreamy look.

W family, thanks for letting me make your pictures! It was fun, and we’ll have to get together soon!

Enjoy!

Brrrrrrr… | Rochester Minnesota Family Photographer

Monday, November 1st, 2010

The R Family and I ate met up on some chilly days to get the pictures out of the way. Poor J and G had their teeth chattering! I always enjoy meeting up with this family as J has such an awesome personality…I never know what he is going to say/do next. Miss G is growing up to be quite a sassy little girl with a mind of her own. She is very independent; if she doesn’t want to do something, she isn’t going to. Reminds me of my 2 year old. 🙂 Must be the age?!?! Thanks again R family! As always, I had a lot of fun! 🙂 Enjoy.

One is Fun | Southeastern Minnesota Baby Photographer

Monday, October 11th, 2010

I met up with this family on what turned out to be an unseasonably warm October day. I think the high was 80 or something. Unheard of for October! These guys happen to be my neighbors, and I was honored they chose me to make their picture for Mr. J’s big day. He is turning one in a little less than a month…with the huge brown eyes and cute expressions, he’s already a lady magnet. I have a feeling the girls will be lining up at this handsome boy’s little door before we know it.
